Ĉar la biologio estas la "scienco de la vivo", kaj animaloj estas vivantoj, ĉu ne?

Mi pensis ke, kiam oni studas la zoologion (en la biologio) estas grava havi ligilojn al la animaloj, kaj ankaŭ kiam oni studas la animalojn, estas grava havi ligilojn al aliaj biologiaj artikoloj (kiel biologia klasado, fiziologio, ekologio,...). Tamen, mi ankaŭ intencas krei ligiloj al ili en la portalo (ekz. en la "artikolo de la monato", en la "kunlabori"-sekcio, k.t.p.), por stimuli aliaj vikipediistoj (zoologistoj, ekologistoj) en pluredakti ĉi tiujn artikolojn .

Ĉu mi malpravis? Ĉu mi devas malfari tion?

Removing NowCommons images

Hi Yekrats. You guys have a huge amount of files on this wiki that are also on Commons; named the same or under a different name. Today I made some changes to a bot that may come in handy - if you are not running a bot as sysop on this wiki, please relay this information to another sysop that works with images. Please check out the bot "nowcommons.py". It can automatically fix links, compare images here and on Commons and delete them automatically if they have been orphaned here and/or are the same as on Commons. EDP for eo.wp?

Hi Yekrats. I see that fair use media are being uploaded here, like Dosiero:Citizenkane.jpg. Can you please point me to an approved Exemption Doctrine Policy (EDP) for this Wikimedia project? SieBot is currently tagging all files without a license. Those are thousands. There is one minor glitch: it does not tag files that have no description at all. I'll fix that one day soon. I can put a message on user talk pages of all users concerned, if you let me know which template I should add to their user talk page warning them about pending deletions. Transfer of images to Commons

The discussion I see on Commons seems to misrepresent something: not all files in this wiki and not on Commons are going to be deleted. Files without a proper license and/or source are being tagged and may be removed if this is not fixed. Files with a proper license will probably be moved to Commons so they get more attention and can be used more. Removing files with a valid license, initially uploaded to eo.wp, and later moved to Commons, still having proper sourcing and license, sounds strange to me... Siebrand 15:30, 13. Maj 2008 (UTC)

Yes, what I think happened was: Petro mistakenly put the GFDL license template on an image, which was taken by a bot to Commons. The file did not have proper fair use justification here, so I deleted it. I also marked it at Commons to be deleted for the same reason. -- Yekrats 15:51, 13. Maj 2008 (UTC)

I'm afraid that applies for more files than one, and this would explain why Petro put deletion tags on many files tagged GFDL and transferred from here to commons. If you could help communicating and clarifying this that would be great. Finnrind 16:08, 13. Maj 2008 (UTC)

Assuming licenses

Hi Yekrats. In edits like this one, I see that you are assuming licenses. Is there any policy on this wiki that states clearly that if someone declares an upload own work, and does not place a license tag, the upload will automatically under a dual license GFDL/CC-BY-SA-3.0? Cleanup of MediaWiki namespace

Hi Yekrats. In the Dosiero: namespace I can help out plenty, but as said, I cannot do that in the other namespaces. If you check this page containing all interface messages, you can see that there are a lot of overrules to the Esperanto UI that you are creating in Betawiki. This can be resolved in two ways: make the message here equal to that on of the standard localisation, or delete the MediaWiki: page. When to use fair use

Hi Yekrats. I was checking new uploads, and I came across Dosiero:Emblemo de Sąjūdis.png. This is an organisation logo. In my opinion this is incorrect usage of fair use. It is not impossible to describe the subject where the file is used without needing that that image. How is the fair use policy interpreted on this wiki? SieBot made a big mess

Hi Yekrats. I just found out SieBot has made a big mess replacing images. It has something to do with the "EsperantoX" decoding. About 600 pages were mamed[2]. They all need to be fixed manually. Reverting is possible, but will lead to red linked images. This will cost hours and hours I do not have right now. Can you please help? Work from SieBot's edit liked here, back to the top. Note here where you left off. You need to edit the version before SieBot did, and replace the image as mentioned in the edit summary. My sincerest apologies to this enomous mess. I had not checked the edits, and I would have found out sooner :( Anyway, thank you if you are willing to help fixing.

I have updated the bot framework so that others using a bot in the way I do will not run into this. I do however not know exacly which negative sideeffects the change I made in the bot will have. Most likely the bot will not be able to find page or a string. I have looked in the MediaWiki code, and Esperanto has some nasty real-time character replacement code. Egads! Well, one way to fix would be to replace Hxxxx with Ĥ, and so on with the various esperanto characters: ĉ, ĝ, ĥ, ĥ, ĵ, ŝ, and all of the capitals. That's just a string substitution, right? There's a pywikipedia that will do that, right? -- 23:00, 12. Jun 2008 (UTC)

Oh the problem is bigger than I thought. I think to greatly reduce the problem, replacing any string of n "x"s where n > 1 with just "x" would solve the problem. The only problems this would cause would be when the article actually meant to have the letter u, c, g, h, j, or s before an x. The latter is pretty rare so I think we would be in a much better position going ahead with the replacement. ie. replace "xx" with "x", "xxx" with "x", "xxxx" with "x", "xxxxx" with "x". I think an extra x was added each time you ran the robot. I think most articles would be fixed by replacing "xx" with "x". Maybe I'm not understanding something though. Eb.eric 23:46, 12. Somewhat, because bot edits are somehow exempt (sometimes). I am still trying to understand what exactly is happening. The person to check with about the x-magic is Brion Vibber, who is an Admin here, but is much more active at meta and elsewhere. He can tell you about the inner workings of the x-system magic, as I believe he wrote the code for it. Today, the 15th of June, 2008, at approximately 9 am GMT, the 100,000th article was written in the Esperanto-language Wikipedia. It now joins the list of 20 Wikipedias of more than 100,000 articles. The 100,000th article, titled "Monfalsado", is about counterfeit money and was submitted by the user Alaŭdo. This is without a doubt a very important milestone in the history of any Wikipedia, and only around 7.5% of the various language Wikipedias have so far reached this level. Taking into accounting their rates of growth, many will not reach this milestone within the next 10 years. If the Esperanto Wikipedia sustains its growth, the number of articles is expected to double in 5 years.

It took the Esperanto Wikipedia almost 7 years, from November 2001 until June 2008, to grow to this size. Growth has not been steady over this time, thanks to the automatic creation of articles by robots about German and Brazilian cities, Italian communities, and astronomic objects, the number of articles grew very quickly twice. However, when the number of articles reached 80,000, the community decided that the automatic creation of articles compromised the quality of the encyclopedia, and so articles were no longer created this way. For this reason, the 80,000 article level passed more than a year before reaching the magic number of 100,000.

The Esperanto Wikipedia currently has slightly more than 100,000 articles, of which 165 are deemed "outstanding" and 126 are deemed "recommended reading". Even though there are approximately 5,000 registered users, of them only 800 have made at least one contribution. The number of active Wikipedians, who add more than 5 articles or make more than 50 contributions monthly, is approximately 130 people, not including active robots. However, it is still not required to be a registered user, and many people contribute without registering.

To confirm your observation, Yekrats, at Vicipaedia some of us are currently enjoying (?) discussion of these letters. Since the ancient Greek language is of close interest to us we will, I expect, retain brief articles about them (except la:Jot) but we will make sure that what remains is referenced and verifiable. They are not all Greek, and they are very obscure, but they are not total inventions. Unfortunately, contributors of this kind can waste a lot of other people's time as well as their own ... Misrigardo

Estimata Yekrats, mi misrigardis la najbaran linion en kiu vi forbaris alian anoniman uzanton. Do, mi senkulpigas min pro mistajpo de klavoj, kies rezulto devis esti "kial vandalaĵo" kaj ne "kial forbaro" kiel mi skribis en mia komento en la diskuta paĝo de la anonimulo. Kara, ne havas multan sencon peti restarigon de rajtoj de Gabriel : li fakte ĉesis kontribui de pli ol unu jaro (en liaj lastaj kontribuoj li sciigis ke li estos tre okupita pro ekzamenoj). Maladministrantigon de neaktivuloj ni povus konsideri. La bedaŭrindaĵo estas ke tion faris Kakao kaj ke stevardo M7 simple plenumis la peton ne kontrolinte kiu petas ĝin. Mi aranĝis en la suprasoraba vikipedio, kie mi havas administrantajn rajtojn, du css-bazitajn aldonaĵojn (angle Gadget), kiuj iom plibeligas la tieajn informkestojn resp. taksonkestojn, tiel ke ili ricevas fonan bildeton en la superskriboj depende de la temo. Ekzemplaj bildoj troviĝas sur la tieaj paĝoj hsb:Wobraz:Infokašćik hudźbnik z přidatymi formatami.jpg kaj hsb:Wobraz:Infokašćik rostlina z přidaćemi.jpg. La ideo por tio venis el la franca vikipedio (fr:Projet:Infobox/V2), sed mi aranĝis ĉion kiel aldonaĵoj por ĉiuj, kiuj ŝatas tion. Mi pardonpetas, ke mi antaŭ ne respondis, ĉar mi forveturis por kongresumi kaj ne havis facilan aliron al la reto. Jes, mi scias, ke mi alŝutis multajn bildojn ne nur al artikoloj pri birdoj. Mi delonge lernas pri la ĝusta maniero fari tion, sed ĝis nun malsukcesas. Mi legos la koncernajn tekstojn kaj estos kontakte kun vi por fari ĉion akurate.

Pri birdoj kutime mi aldonis nur fotojn de alilingvaj versioj de Vikipedio, plej ofte de la angla kaj kiam la bildo ne aperis rekte mi prenis la bildon el tiu versio al mia komputilo kaj de tie elŝutis ĝin ĉar mi supozis tiun la plej facila maniero alŝuti jam akceptitan bildon. Iam mi aldonis ankaŭ desegnaĵojn facile rekoneblajn, ĉar ne temas pri fotoj, sed tio postulis de mi kroman laboron kaj rezignis pri tiu tasko, kvankam restis malmultaj kelkaj belaj verkoj.

Pri aliaj aferoj (krom la jam priskribita metodo) mi aldonis proprajn fotojn, ekzemple por la artikolo Litovio, kaj mi supozas, ke mi aldonis ĉu indikon pri propra foto ĉu la proponita blazono sube kopiita

Ĉiukaze, estas miaopinie pli simpla konservi la anglajn nomojn ĝis tiam, kiam ĉiuj magiaj vortoj estos tradukitaj (frame, thumb, gallery, ktp...). Forigo de dosieroj

Mi konstatis, ke la 4-an de novembro vi forigis tutan serion de dosieroj de birdoj, kiujn alŝutis Kani antaŭnelonge kun klarigo "ne uzata bildo", kio ne veras, ĉar la bildoj ja estas uzataj en la koncernaj birdoartikoloj de Kani, kiuj nun aperas sen bildoj. Ŝajnas, ke temas pri licencproblemo, sed se vi bone kontrolas, la problemo estiĝis, ĉar Kani anstatau utiligi la ŝablonon PD utiligis hispanan, kiu en Esperanto ne funkcias. Ĉu ne estus pli bone ol forigi tiujn bildojn, ke vi aŭ simple korektus la licencinformon aŭ ke vi sendu mesaĝon al Kani korekti la aferon.
